Computer based investigations are the largest growing area of investigations in the private sector today. We have investigators employing the tools needed to investigate today’s cases using today’s tools on the net. Many of our cases originated on the internet and many of our cases are solved on the internet. The internet is a powerful tool and harmful when misused.
We utilize countless online services, databases and techniques to solve cases every day. Criminals and those determined to deceive are using the internet. Fortunately, so are we.
We do not encourage clients to try to complete investigations on their own in this arena. Please let us know if we can help.
These investigations may begin as a typical investigation and may become more computer centered as the case develops. It is not uncommon to find evidence tracking toward computer information that can be best developed through this means. If the case goes in this direction, or if it starts with most evidence pointing to computer based information, our investigator will pursue the case making use of this medium. This is highly specialized casework and an area in which we have had great success.
There are two types of computer based investigations: The first described above involves a typical investigation that is best worked using the computer. The second is an investigation of a company, a person, place or thing that must be investigated in great detail by compiling data, analyzing it and formulating a summary for the client, via the computer.
